Long Canyon to Green Mtn West Ridge

Dave and Steve walked the Long Canyon trail from the Ranger cottage to Flagstaff Road, then up the road and through the forest to shortcut the switchbacks to the Green West Ridge trail. Walked up the West Ridge trail to its junction with the Ranger Trail, then headed back down the Ranger trail to the car. Nice hike; elapsed time 1h 50m. Back in Boulder the Pearl Street Mall was exceptionally crowded, but we found easy parking across from the Walnut Brewery, and proceeded to a new restaurant called Republic of Boulder (in the former Oasis/Elephant Bar). It retains the Elephant Bar's modern egyptian motif and wafting fans, but now includes a huge tv behind the bar. Its microbrewery just completed its first brew cycle on their first two beers: a brown and a milk stout. We sampled the suds and found them commendable.
