Crown Rock

Steve and Dave did a short hike up to Crown Rock. Weirdly, I don't remember seeing the rock itself. Guess we'll have to go back.

The trail starts a short distance up Gregory Canyon, and then heads straight up the hillside to the north. A few switchbacks, and you arrive at Flagstaff Road, whereupon you can descend via the Flagstaff Trail, or continue up to the Flagstaff Summit. (Might have to try this variation next time.)

Afterwards we went to Mountain Sun for some beer, burgers, and noise. That place is loud, but the nitrogen tap yields a smooth brew. (How poetic.) Then we headed east to check out the CD release party for Beau Bones and the Heebie Jeebies at Rock'n'Soul Cafe, on east Arapahoe. The $5 cover seemed exhorbitant, so we skipped over to the Table Mesa Caffe Sole instead.

5-Jul: Last week we hiked ... up Gregory Canyon and down Flagstaff, so we've been in this area twice in a row. Lots of young apples on the trees, and undoubtedly bears in the woods waiting for the fruit to fall. Beware!
